Police radar sends out a cone - shaped beacon, which, of course, expands with distance. The next time you have to go to traffic court, ask the cop how big this cone is at the distance you were when he tagged you, and what is the maximum range of the beacon. Next, ask him if his radar system diferentiates between the, closest object, the fastst object, and the largest object within the cone.
I would be surprised if he can give you the answers to these questions. This information is carefully protected by law enforcement. If you know the facts, you could possibly talk yourself out of a guilty verdict, but don’t count on it. And certainly don’t use me as a source of information. Like you, I’m just thinking about the questions.
not common knowledge but the radar will usually pick up the bigger vehicle
