Me driving on Colorado Blvd. in Arcadia on the way to PCC when all of a sudden my Ka alert goes off. Sure enough, there was a police officer and his motorcycle on the side of the road. The detector heard in the video is the Cobra 9220WX. By the way, the songs in the background are Mr. Potato Head by The Game, followed by Jesus Walks by Kanye West.

A good detector is nothing without a good driver. Find a few pacer cars to let them soak up radar and laser beams, then when they get pulled over, wave to them while doing 5 over. There are too many people who rely too heavily on their detectors, then dismiss them as useless when they get popped for wreckless driving. Use those big SUVS as cover.

Suggesting to only use only a laser jammer is stupid and shows you know nothing about speed detection devices and methods. Laser jammers aren’t even 100 percent. Some of the best such as the antilaser and Laser pro park only in the 80’s percent wise on effectiveness. Punch troughs can still happen depending on many factors such as the gun used, your care, etc.

Radar detectors are not worthless. First off, a large amount of constant on radar is still used which can easily be defeated with a good radar detector. Instant on can also be defeated in many cases by early detection with a sensitive detector.

This video shows nothing, it alerted almost after you had passed the officer. If you had been doing a good speed he would easily already obtained your speed. Furthermore he was using laser and your alert was coming off his rear fixed mount radar antenna on his bike. Radar detectors are a total rip off, get a laser jammer and you might have a chance.

radar detectors are useless, they only work if there is a lazy cop on the road that keeps the beam open. it can only pick up the beam if it is being operated. if the cop keeps it on hold till he sees your car speeding then releases the hold button by the time you get the alert its to late.

Yes, MPH is the only manufacturer that uses wat is known a POP radar. POP mode is not to be used in issuing a citaion all by itself it is for tha officer to get a acurate reading of a suspected vehicle You are wrong that tha reason its not usable in court is that its innaccurate, Actual problem is the officer must have wat is called a tracking history witch is making a visual estimate of speed,then using radar in constant on mode to verify the speed while listening to the audio doppler.

Do you even know what company produces the POP model radar guns? You probably don’t, BTW your more likely to get hit with lightning then POP. POP mode is made by MPH industries and is so inaccurate that it says in the instructions it says “Do not use for use of issuing citations.” BTW cobra’s are know to false on more sensitive detectors such as Escort X50, Bel Rx65 and most commonly the Valentine 1.

From what I understand the “toss up” is between the classic Valentine One (which many people say is the best ever) and the New Beltronics I saw on radar Roy’s website.

dude people are retards! it was a pop scan….cops will flick there detector on for a second, and not at every car, only the ones that look like they are speeding….it’s not enought to clock someone in, but it will give them and accurate reading of how fast they are going….
